Today's the day! Elder Poytress was set apart in Pincher Creek on Tuesday night and then we drove up highway 22 to Calgary to stay with Chelsie and Jeff. We were up very early the next morning, about 4:30 am, said our good-byes, and were off to the airport. Elder Poytress' flight left at 7:40 am. The whole check-in process and walking to the door of the US departures took maybe a total of 10 minutes - so we said our quick good-byes, shed some tears and watched him walk off (without a backward glance) toward his exciting adventure. The process was so quick that I didn't even have a chance to fall apart and make a scene. I think Elder Poytress was appreciative of that!
These two bags represent the next two years in the life of a missionary! Really? I need to reduce and simplify.
Here we are checking in. Everything went very smoothly.
Elder Poytress- off on a grand adventure - serving the Lord for the next two years.
We are with you all the way!
